Brace Yourself: For ME and The World of Orthopedic Surgery

The Why.

The world of orthopedic surgery is rapidly changing, daunting, and overwhelming for patients. It consumes many parts of the patients’ lives who are thrust into it, and often rears its head without warning or concern for the other events of people’s lives. I wanted to create this space to help patients combat the world of orthopedic surgery. My goal for this blog space is to answer patient questions, guide patients through orthopedic surgery, and give them tips and tricks for the road ahead. As readers I hope you find peace in this space that will allow you to have the best possible experience you can during a difficult time. Whether you are having surgery yourself, or helping to care for a loved one that is struggling I hope this space can provide what you need. Even if that need is just peace of mind for what is to come.

About me!

Brace yourself, because in order to help give you piece of mind about my experience, I need to give you a little bit of background about me. I am an Athletic Trainer. You may or may not know what that is but in short, I’m a specialist in the world of sports medicine. My specialty is Orthopedic Surgery. I’ve been in my orthopedic office for just over three years, and I have given countless patients advice on what to do pre- and post-surgery. I have listened to countless people struggle and many more thrive. In this space I hope to be able to take all of my expertise and help you in your journey.

This is me! In addition to being an Athletic Trainer I am also a Wife, a Mom, a Dog Mom, and a Book Lover. I enjoy spending time outdoors and I have a crazy friend group who I spend too much time with. I believe that all people have good intentions even when they don’t do good things and I’m a sucker for a good motivational quote. I really hope you enjoy the content here; it took a lot of courage for me to start! So, brace yourself, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. – RH
